The Corona Crisis forces many organizations to change the way they organise themselves. As the economy is slowing down and activities are stopping, working remotely is the only way to keep on going.
Where telework took root, it was limited to one or two days a week. Now it’s full-time telework for at least a month. And that’s not so obvious.
A main reason is that a part of the the job is defined by the formal and informal interactions at work. What’s more, people who have never worked from home before, do not have the skills to do so well. An important problem of working from home is also the feeling of being isolated. And finally, homeworking requires specific skills from the leader.
A leader then has to create a psychological context that promotes cooperation within the team, regardless of the distance.
Leaders are asked today to be better than ever. People look at them, what they say and how they say it. Their exemplary behaviour will determine how the team works.
In this seminar we will discuss how leaders can cope with this challenge.
We will deal with these topics:
Speaker is David Ducheyne
David Ducheyne is a specialist in leadership. He knows how difficult remote leadership is for leaders..
Under his lead Securex started implementing telework in 2010. He knows the opportunities and the dangers of remote work. Telework was massively used after the terrorist attacks of 2016. The Corona crisis will require people to work from home for a much longer period.
David is also the author of Sustainable Leadership. How to lead in a VUCA World.
”Leaders must build trust, even when everything seems to be in chaos. When people work remotely, it's even more important to focus on the psychological context of work. We will give 5 actions leaders can take.
